The Cohen Law Firm has brought suit against National Homebuilder Centex Homes alleging Centex Homes, along with its CTX Mortgage and a group of appraisers, conspired to inflate the prices of Centex single family homes in Corona, California.  The suit alleges that Centex provided false and misleading sales information to appraisers and promised homeowners under contract that it would not reduce the prices of homes in future phases.  The lawsuit also alleges that the appraisers used false and misleading data in order to inflate the prices of the home in a declining market so that the plaintiffs could secure loans and close escrow on the properties.  Centex Homes reduced the prices on the properties several hundred thousands of dollars within weeks of their purchase.  You may view a copy of the lawsuit by clicking the following link: Centex Homes Lawsuit (2MB PDF).
